Our geotechnical engineers can detect weld defects that are found on the surface level including blow holes and exposed porosity, cracks in the weld metal, and burning or undercuts in the parent metal. If profile defects exist, our professionals can pinpoint overlapping, incompletely filled grooves, excessive penetration beads, excessive convexity or concavity or other related issues. We also look for welding distortions that can be caused by bowing, twisting or shrinkage. NDT includes several analysis techniques that allow us to evaluate the properties of structural steel without causing damage.
